Babeck Ebadpour, DMD
It is an honor to return to my home state of Alaska to serve the people of this wonderful state. I am a first-born generation American, born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. I attended West Valley High School, and I was an avid runner, skier, snowboarder, hunter, and soccer player.
The passion for soccer took me to play college soccer in Portland, Oregon. Here, I received a double major in Biochemistry and Mathematics and a minor in Biology and Art, graduating summa cum laude. While in school, I joined the Oregon Air National Guard as a flight medic. I discovered my passion for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery due to my involvement in research and development at Oregon Health Science University. I was awarded a health professions scholarship with the United States Air Force and was accepted to Harvard University to complete my dental/medical education in 2019. I was part of the inaugural class of the new medical curriculum at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in conjunction with Harvard Medical School. During my time in Boston, I conducted research in pediatric head and neck arteriovenous malformations at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
After graduating with honors from Harvard University, I was immediately accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in San Antonio, Texas where I served as Chief Resident at the busiest trauma center in the country, Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas and served in the only level 1 trauma center in the department of defense where I treated patients at the prestigious institute of surgical research burn center. In residency, I received extensive training in general anesthesia, facial trauma, facial cosmetic surgery, head and neck reconstruction, orthognathic jaw surgery, TMJ surgery, medically complex patients, and dentoalveolar procedures. I was able to serve in a role where I provided education and instruction to our special operations medics in facial trauma and management of injuries to the maxillofacial region.
Following graduation from residency in 2023, my next active-duty assignment with the Air Force would bring me full circle back to JBER in Anchorage, Alaska where I am the Department of Defense Armed Forces sole Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical provider. I have completed and passed the first part of my board certification process with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and will challenge the second and final part in 2024.
My wife, 3 dogs, and I now reside in the Valley and enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fitness, and skiing. I also have a strong passion for aviation and hope to pursue my private pilot license.
