Matthew Chavarria, DDS
Dr. Chavarria is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon dedicated to the care and comfort of his patients. Originally from Kodiak, Alaska, he is eager to join Meridian Park Oral Surgery and return to his home state.
Dr. Chavarria began his academic journey at the University of Portland, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. He went on to attain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society. Dr. Chavarria then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. During his time in residency, Dr. Chavarria received extensive training across a spectrum of oral and facial surgical procedures, including dentoalveolar and implant surgery, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery, and complex facial trauma management. He also obtained comprehensive training in general anesthesia and IV sedation techniques.
Dr. Chavarria has a particular interest in dental implants and orthognathic surgery, where he combines advanced techniques with personalized care to restore function and aesthetics for his patients. Whether replacing missing teeth with dental implants or correcting jaw misalignment through orthognathic procedures, he is dedicated to achieving exceptional outcomes and improving his patients’ quality of life.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Chavarria finds joy in exploring the great outdoors with his wife, son, and dog. This connection to nature fuels his spirit of exploration and adventure, mirroring his approach to oral surgery: embracing challenges with resilience, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
